Department of Zoology organised one day sericulture tour for BG 6th Semester students at Sericuture Developement Centre, SKUAST to provide hands on practical training to the students about the technique of rearing of silkworms for production of silk. The program started with the power point presentation by Dr. Ziaulhaq (Associate professor) about the life cycle and rearing technique of silkworms which was followed by hands on training given by Prof. Khursheed Ahamad Sahab (Associate Professor) about the techniques of stiffling, realing, spinning and dying of silk. Besides this the scholars working in the centre delibrated about the techiques of utilising the waste material of sericulture for making different decorative items. After the rigorous training session, the students were taken to Tangmarg hill station for relaxing and having their lunch.
