Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Govt. Degree College Ganderbal organised one day workshop entitled “Water Quality testing and Innovation orientation” on 10th December 2022 at the conference hall of the college so as to create innovation ecosystem in the college and nurture innovative ideas from the young innovators. The program was organized in collaboration with American Society for Microbiology and Department of Bioresources, University of Kashmir. Students from adjacent higher secondaries like New Dreamland Educational Institute, Govt Girls Higher Secondary Ganderbal, Govt Boys higher secondary Ganderbal and Qamaria Higher Secondary were also invited to participate in the program as part of Community outreach program of the college. The Program started with the introduction of workshop by Dr. Sheikh Tanveer Salam (Coordinator IIC) which was followed by the Presidential address delivered by Prof. Fouzia Fatima (Principal). After this, two invited young innovators Mr. Sheikh Mohazib Amin (Class 12th student) and Mr. Sheikh Immad Bashir (Class 11th student) shared inspirational and motivational journey of their innovations that earned them two patents. This was followed by resource lecture and hands on training regarding water quality testing by the resource person of workshop Dr. Peer Abdul Haseeb Shah (ASM Young Ambassador to India). The program concluded with formal vote of thanks extended by Dr. Mushtaq Ahamad Rather (Staff Secretary). The proceedings of the workshop were moderated by Dr. Sheikh Tanveer Salam (Coordinator IIC).
