About Department 

Department of Functional English was established in the year 2012 in the Government DegreeCcollege, Ganderbal. The subject was introduced keeping in view the versatility of the subject and its widespread application in the today’s global arena. The dept. has, no doubt, thin student strength as compared to the opportunities offered by the subject: but still then a good number of students are absorbed in the challenging scenario of higher studies.

The department of Functional English was established in the year 2012. Ever since its inception, the department has progressed in different ways be it student strength, number of books related to the subject in general and awareness, among masses, towards the subject in particular. The subject is academically serving in a number of ways, thus, catering to the demands and needs of students and is looking forward to flourish in the near future.
