  • Adapting Cyber Legislations

    GDC Ganderbal organized a lecture on “Adapting Cyber Legislations: Addressing Challenges & Solutions” under the aegis of Viksit Bharat on Wednesday 15-May-24. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Aneeda Jan, Assistant Professor(Law) Center for Distance & Online Education, University of Kashmir.


  • Under the SVEEP action plan 2024, the Debating Committee of the college in collaboration with the Department of Political Science organised a Panel Discussion on the topic: "VOTE FOR POWER, VOTE FOR CHANGE: THE ROUTE AHEAD" and also organised a Siganture Campaign

    The Debating Committee of the College in collaboration with the Department of Political Science organized a Panel Discussion on the Topic “Vote for Power, Vote for Progress: The Route Ahead”. Various faculty members along with students participated in the panel discussion which enthralled the Whole student community and organised a Signature campaign on 02-05-2024.


  • Department of Islamic Studies in collaboration with Debate and Seminar Committee and IQAC Organized a one Day Seminar on the "Role of Moral Education in the Spiritual Rejuvenation"

    The Event began with the tilawat e Quran by Peer Marib Fayaz (Students) and Naat recited by Riyaz Ahmad Hakak. The welcome address was presented by Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh (Vice -Principal) who formally welcomed the resource persons, highlighted the significance of the seminar theme . Two resource Persons Dr. Moyeed-uz-Zafar and Dr. Altaf Hussain Yatoo spoke on different dimensions of the theme.


  • Department of English in collaboration with Debate and seminar Committee and IQAC Committee celebrated International Womans Day.

    The Esteemed Principal of the college Prof Fouzia Fatima delivered a warm welcome address, emphasizing the importance of celebrating womanhood and promoting inclusivity in Society. The highlight of the event was the presence of distinguished guest speakers, adding depth and perspective to the discussions. Prof. Naseem Shafaie, a renowned writer and academician, shared her insights on empowering woman and fostering inclusivity in educational institutions and beyond.

    Department of Botany and Zoology jointly organized a webinar on the theme "Youth as Ambassadors Biodiversity conservation " under the aegis of Viksit Bharat @2047 on 23-12-2023. The Guest Speaker was Dr. Tahir Gazaffar State Entomologist SKUAST Who highlighted the role of Youth in Conservation of Flora and Fauna . Principal Madam Dr. (Prof.) Fouzia Fatima deliberated upon the steps should be taken by a youth in conserving Biodiversity.

  • Inter-College Debate, Painting and Quiz competition

    An Inter-College debate, painting and quiz competitions were held on 28-10-2023 by Debates and Seminar Committee in collaboration with NSS Units of the College under the aegis of UT Foundation Day with reference to the Order No. ASC/Edu/N/23/325 dated 21/10/23. GDC Kangan and GCET Safapora participated in the competitions. A total number of 50 students attended the event. The theme of all the competitions was ‘Corruption and Poverty free J&K’.


  • Determination of λ(max) for solutions of various compounds

    UV-Vis Spectrophotometer was used to study Absorbance (A) vs Concentration. Various concentrations of compounds (KMnO4, K2Cr2O7) were prepared and absorbance of each solution was determined using distilled water as reference. The purpose of conducting the experiment was to give the students an idea about various parameters so that they could easily conduct the experiments that are included in the prescribed syllabus.

    Report on Street Play (NUKAD NAATAK) celebrated as part of the Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on the 4th of August,2023. As part of the celebration of,” Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, Government Degree College Ganderbal in collaboration with Cultural Unit Kashmir, Department of Information And District Information Centre Ganderbal organized a thought-provoking Street play (Nukad Natak) to shed light on prevalent social evils in our society.

  • HISTORICAL VISIT

    Department of History and Heritage Club organised a historical visit for the students of 2nd semester to Shalimar Garden, Khanqah- i- Maula and Pathar Masjid 0n 22nd June, 2023. About 36 students were a part of this visit.


  • One day field Tour at Guryul Ravine Khunmoh, Jammu and Kashmir

    The Guryul Ravine in Kashmir, geologically known as the Vihi district, are a repository of fossils that hold evidence of the Permian-Triassic extinction event, dating as far as back 260 million years, one of the oldest of its types in the entire world. Acknowledgement We the faculty and the students of geology thank the Principal GDC Ganderbal, HOD geology and the organizing members for helping the department of geology to make this field tour possible.


  • Awareness Program on Metabolic Syndrome and PCOS

    An awareness program was organized by Health Committee and Red Ribbon Club and held on 31st May 2023 in College Conference Hall on Metabolic Syndrome and PCOS. Dr. Mahroosa delivered an expert lecture on lifestyle changes leading to increased metabolic syndrome in the present day and increasingly so among the young generation.

    The Drama Club, GDC Ganderbal organised a tour to Tagore Hall on the occasion of Mother Language Day to watch the musical Opera show on ARNIMAAL directed by Manzoor Ahmad Mir on 21st Feb 2023. A group of 40 students watched the theatrical performance and shared their feedback.

  • Cycle Race (Womens) organized by University of Kashmir

    GDC, Ganderbal bags two positions in Cycle Race (Womens) which was held today on 7th June 2022. In todays event of Cycle Race (Womens) organized by University of Kashmir, about 50 participants from different College across valley participated. The race started from Nishat Garden and culminated at Kashmir university, Rumi Gate. the distance of the race was approximately 7 kms. Our two students namely Insha jan and Insha Sultan bagged 8th and 9th positions respectively..


  • Inter-college Road Race was organized by University of Kashmir from Nehru Park to Rumi Gate University of Kashmir.

    Today as on 27th May 2022, Inter-college Road Race was organized by University of Kashmir from Nehru Park to Rumi Gate University of Kashmir. The route length was approx.13 kms. In the said event one of our students namely Gulbadan Hikmatyar of 5th Sem clinched Gold Medal and brought laurels to the college. Congrats to whole college for this great achievement

    Department of Zoology in collaboration with IQAC of Govt. Degree College Ganderbal hosted JK Scientists outreach – 2022 offline interactive event on 21st May, 2022.
