Department of Mathematics was established in the year 2002 in the government degree college, Ganderbal. A good number of students get enrolled every year and the result is quite satisfactory. The department consists of an accomplished & dedicated faculty with a passion for the subject. They have good communication and teaching skills with the ability to handle subjects ranging from Commercial Math, Pure Math to Computer Programming. The faculty is involved in research, syllabus framing and also on the Examiners '/Paper setters' Panels & syllabus committees of Kashmir University. The Mathematics Department also organizes various activities as an extension of classroom teaching. levels.

Message

Mathematics forms the backbone for knowledge development in every sphere. I strongly believe that nobody becomes a prominent learner without significant knowledge of Mathematics. Mathematics has come to be recognised as the language of science in that there is hardly any field of science that has not been profoundly affected by mathematics. The Department of Mathematics came into existence in 2013. The members of the faculty have made useful contributions over a period of time. As part of its mission, the department shall continue to strive to achieve excellence, both in teaching as well as in research.
