The Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre of the National Institute of Technology held an innovation, creativity and technology event under the banner “Shireen, Projex competition and Dev hacks competition”. The event was held at NIT, Srinagar on 25th November 2023. The event was aimed to provide a platform to students of technology across the valley to showcase their talent, and, was attended by the students of various professional as well as non-professional colleges of the valley, including the host institution, National Institute of Technology Srinagar. The students of the Department of Computer Applications and IT from Govt. Degree College Ganderbal also participated in the event through the innovation cell of the college, headed by Dr. Sameera Siraj, Convenor Innovation. The Students of GDC Ganderbal conceived, designed, and presented a sophisticated Cybersecurity Threat Intelligence & Detection project under the guidance of Mr. Rizwan Lecturer IT and overall mentorship of Prof. Qurat-ul-ain, Head of the Department of Computer Applications.
Participation in the Projex Project Showcase Competition by the students of Govt. Degree College Ganderbal was encouraged by Prof. Fouzia, the principal of the College. The competition dynamics were marked by stringent evaluation criteria, encompassing technical proficiency, innovation, and practical applicability of the proposed solutions. It is indeed a matter of great joy that the participants from GDC Ganderbal bagged the first prize in the technological event. The success in the Projex Project Showcase Competition is a collective testament to the efforts put in by the participating students and faculty of the Department of Information Technology & Computer Applications and Innovation Cell of the College. This would not have been possible without the personal intervention of the principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Fouzia Fatima.
